Sports Injury Management
What is it?
Sports Injury Management utilizes a multi-disciplinary approach in evaluating, preventing, and treating injuries in athletes. The goal of this rehabilitation is not only to recover, but to optimize the musculoskeletal function of the athlete. This means that if you’re a runner, the goal isn’t just to reduce the pain and inflammation of your shin splints, but also to assess and correct your gait pattern, which can prevent further injury and improve your speed and endurance.
Better. Faster. Stronger.
How we are different.
As lovers of movement, we have worked extensively with competitive and elite athletes while having participated in high-level sports ourselves. We work closely with local clubs such as 310 Running and Caledon Cougars Basketball Club. We provide coverage to most local high schools for sports games and tournaments. We coach. We teach. We train. We move.
Utilizing the experiences and skill sets of our diverse staff, Bolton Physio is able to provide a specialized program to assist each athlete in reaching their maximal level of performance. Whether you’re looking to be the top scorer at pick-up hockey or improve your marathon pace, we can help you reach your goal.
Your first session.
The first session will include an accurate diagnosis from a Physiotherapist. Depending on the injury, the first step often involves pain reduction and promoting healing. A goal setting session is used in the first session to determine what you’d like to achieve by the end of your program. Your goals will be personal to you, whether its sports specific, functional, or simply how you feel.
Once pain and swelling are reduced, progressive recondition programming can commence. This is where you will be provided with a specific training guide that targets mobility, flexibility, strength, coordination of balance, and/or joint positioning. Reassessments are used throughout the program to keep us on track in delivering you your goals.
